Use the File > Load > Data File command to load into the active algebra window a numeric data file produced by instrumentation or other math programs.  This command allows you pick a data file using the standard Windows Open file dialog box.  By default, only files with an extension name of dat are displayed.

Each line of the data file must be a list of numbers separated by spaces and/or commas.  The numbers must be in standard integer, rational, or floating point notation with an optional E or D followed by an exponent (e.g. 2.325E7).  Derive interprets each row of the data file as a row of a matrix, with blank lines used to separate matrices.
