Use the Help > Online command or click on the icon on the command toolbar to open the Derive on-line help window.  The left pane of this window has the following three tabs:

Contents:  Click on this tab to display the table of contents for the on-line help.  Click on any topic to get detailed help in the right pane of the on-line help window.

Index:  Click on this tab to search for help on a topic in the on-line help index.  Type the first few letters of the topic, and/or scroll through the list of entries in the index.  Then click on the index entry you want, and click on the Display button.  Or just click on the index entry to get detailed help in the right pane of the on-line help window.

Search:  Click on this tab to search for help on specific words or phrases anywhere in the text of the on-line help, instead of just the topics in the index.  The first time you choose this option, a few seconds will be required to create a database of all the words in the on-line help.  Then you can type one or more words that you want to find.  A list of topics containing those words will be displayed.  Click on a topic to get detailed help in the right pane of the on-line help window.
