Rectangular form
A complex expression is in rectangular form if it is of the form a + b·î where a and b are real-valued expressions. For example, 2 + 3·î is in rectangular form but (2 + 3·î)² is not.
If a 2D-plot window is in rectangular plot mode, expressions are plotted in rectangular coordinatesRectangular_coordinates, and the position of the cross is displayed in rectangular coordinates. Rectangular plot mode is indicated by the rectangular axes icon in the first pane of the 2D-plot window status bar.
