Use the 2D-plot window Set > Plot Range > Length/center command or press Ctrl+N to examine and/or set the plot region parameters.  The dialog box displays the current horizontal and vertical lengths and center coordinates of the plot region, as well as the number of grid intervals in both directions.  You have the opportunity to enter new plot region parameters.  The number of grid intervals should be a positive integer.

After you enter new plot region parameters, press OK to accept the new values.  The plot window will be redrawn and all expressions replotted.  Press Reset to restore the default plot region parameters (i.e. 8 for the lengths, 0 for the center coordinates, and 1 for the scales).  Press Cancel to cancel the command and make no changes to the plot region.

You can also use icons on the command toolbar to change the center of the plot region as follows:

Click on the icon to center the plot region on the cross.

Click on the icon to center the plot region on the origin.

You can also change the lengths of the plot region using the zoom commands on the plot windows command toolbar or by the function keys.  Zooming in magnifies details by displaying a smaller portion of the curve.  Zooming out shrinks details by displaying a larger portion of the curve.  You can zoom in the horizontal direction, the vertical direction, or both directions at once.  When you zoom in or out, the length of the plot region is changed to the next closest number in the sequence: ... 0.05, 0.1, 0.2, 0.5, 1, 2, 5, 10, 20 ... .

Use the following command toolbar icons or function keys to zoom the plot region out (i.e. to increase the plot range):

Click on the icon or press the F10 key to zoom both directions out.

Click on the icon or press the F8 key to zoom the vertical direction out.

Click on the icon or press the F6 key to zoom the horizontal direction out.

Use the following command toolbar icons or function keys to zoom the plot region in (i.e. to decrease the plot range):

Click on the icon or press the F9 key to zoom both directions in.

Click on the icon or press the F7 key to zoom the vertical direction in.

Click on the icon or press the F5 key to zoom the horizontal direction in.

The horizontal scale of the plot region is the number of units between tick marks on the horizontal axis.  The horizontal scale equals the horizontal length of the plot region divided by the number of grid intervals in the horizontal direction.  Thus, to change the horizontal scale to a particular value, you can use the Set > Plot Range > Length/center command to set the horizontal plot length equal to the desired scale times the desired number of grid intervals.  For example, to have a scale of 5 units per tick mark with 12 grid intervals, set the plot length to 60 and the number of intervals to 12.  Similar remarks apply to setting the vertical scale using the Set > Plot Range > Length/center command.

The center coordinates and scales of the plot region are continuously displayed on the 2D-plot windows status bar.
